Local Scholarship Application Process 2023-24.webm

Local Scholarships are sponsored by local and regional businesses, organizations and families for the express purpose of recognizing the accomplishments of and providing financial assistance to the graduates of Milford High School.  The Milford High School community owes these sponsors great thanks and gratitude for the many efforts that go into fundraising for the benefit of our students.

The Student Services office assists with the coordination and processing of scholarship applications.  All completed applications will be forwarded to the scholarship sponsors.  Questions about the scholarship process should be directed to School Counselors in the Student Services office.

The Local Scholarship process utilizes one common application for most of the scholarships offered.  Students are asked to complete this scholarship application via google form.  Any scholarship that requires an additional short statement will have an additional google form for submission of the statement.  Any scholarships that do not use the common scholarship application will require that students complete a separate google form for each.

The Student Services office combines the following items from you to make up a completed application packet:

Completed scholarship packets are sent to each scholarship sponsor you select within the "Scholarship Selection Form"

The steps for completing the Local Scholarship process are as follows:

Note: You must be logged into your MHS google account for these forms to work properly.

1. Provide the parent statement prompt to your parents ASAP

The scholarship applications require that your parents write a brief statement about why they feel you are a good candidate to receive a scholarship.  This statement must be included in your application before you can submit it (it may be typed into your application or copied & pasted from another source).

Please note that scholarships that require their own application (not the common application) may have a different parent statement requirement (see below).

2. Select a teacher recommendation by Monday, March 18th (or sooner please)

Notify us of which recommendation (teacher or counselor) that you would like included with scholarship application by using the link above.  You are able to read the recommendations that teachers and/or your counselor wrote for you in Student Services.

3. Complete the Common Application for Local Scholarships by 8am Monday, March 25th (Preview)

You will need to include your parent's statement into this form before you can submit it.  You may only submit this form once.

You may use the preview above to prepare your responses.

4. Complete the  Scholarship Selection Form by 8am Monday, March 25th (Preview)

This form tells us which scholarships you want to apply to.  We will forward a copy of your Common Application to the scholarship sponsors of the scholarships you select.

There are some scholarships (toward bottom) that require an additional statement from you.  Review the statement prompts to see if you'd like to apply to any scholarships requiring an additional short statement.

5. Complete the separate forms below if you would like to apply to a scholarship requiring an additional short statement by 8am Monday, March 25th.

(It is only necessary to complete these forms if you have selected these particular scholarships in the "Scholarship Selection Form" in step 4.)

6. NON-COMMON APP. SCHOLARSHIPS: Review criteria for scholarships not using the common application and apply by 8am Monday, March 25th if you feel you qualify.
