Local Mental Health Resources


If you or someone you care about is experiencing a mental health and/or substance use crisis you can call and speak to trained and caring clinical staff. You’ll be served by providers from mental health centers in your community who can help you access vital resources in an emergency.


If you or someone you know needs help with a personal or psychiatric crisis, call the Acute Community Crisis Evaluation Service System (ACCESS) or go directly to the Emergency Department at Southern NH Medical center, 8 Prospect St, Nashua NH. ACCESS provides crisis evaluations, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 


Advocates provide emotional support and information for victims of domestic and sexual violence through our 24-hour support line. 


GNMHC is the local mental health center serving Nashua and surrounding towns. New clients can take advantage of the Open Access Walk-in service, available at 440 Amherst Street in Nashua, on Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Substance Misuse and Recovery Services


Located at 180 Elm Street in Milford, Clear Reflections provides Substance Use Counseling for both adolescents and adults.


The Addiction Recovery Coalition of NH Youth peer groups designed for individuals 12-17 and ages 18-25 with problematic substance use habits.


The mission of Community Action for Safe Teens (CAST) is to prevent substance misuse in    the Souhegan Valley, promote healthy choices among youth, and educate, support and strengthen families. For more info contact Chair Monica Gallant 603-672-1002.



Emergency Food, Clothing, Shelter & Financial Assistance


SHARE provides food, clothing and emergency financial assistance to those in need and who reside in the towns of Milford, Amherst, Brookline and Mont Vernon 

The Town of Milford Welfare Department provides interim emergency assistance for low income residents through a voucher system.
