Teacher Recommendations

Generally speaking, students will be able to satisfy college application requirements with two teacher recommendations as well as a recommendation from their School Counselor.

Students are encouraged to seek recommendations with the following considerations:

 - a teacher of a core subject (English, Math, Science and/or Social Studies)

 - a teacher within the subject area that the student would like to pursue in college (example: Business, Music, Art)

 - School Counselor

Please consider the suggestions for how to request a teacher recommendation.

Students should complete the "Teacher & Counselor Recommendation Request Form" once and bring it to the Student Services office. Copies will then be made (on yellow paper) that students submit to their teachers and counselor.

Teacher submit their completed recommendation letters to the Student Services Office.  Recommendation letters are kept on file for six years.

Please note that colleges & universities using the Common Application require students to invite teachers to submit recommendations electronically.  Please plan accordingly, as teachers will need to have a few weeks to complete quality recommendations for all of their students.
