Flex day (Friday) can be used for independent practice of skills, extension activities, or catching up on unfinished work.
** Keep in mind, these activities can be spread out among independent work days.**
B. Post your text feature scavenger hunt on seesaw.
Looking for a challenge? Try this version!
Each person picks 4 cards.
Make two digit numbers to try to get the highest number possible.
Then add the numbers together to get the highest sum.
The person with the highest sum wins the cards.
*A. You have all chosen a topic for your book. Your focus this week is to plan out what you would like to teach about in each section; each section will be its own page. Remember, you will teach about one main idea per page. Put the section names on the top of each page. You might want to add sketches too. Next week, we will begin drafting together and adding words onto the bottom part of the page, so do not worry about that part during your independent days!
Here are a few example for you:
Topic: Running
Possible Sections/Pages
What You Need
Races
Safety
Topic: How To Take Care of A Dog
Possible Sections/Pages
Training
Feeding Your Pet
Exercise
7. Everyone in the world is living through a pandemic right now. Sometimes it feels like things are constantly changing and evolving, and sometimes things stay the same. Some days feel comfortable and easy, and some days feel hard and uncomfortable. What feelings are you having this week? Take a moment to think about what has happened in your life this week and how that has made you feel.
Write, draw, paint, make a video...think of a way to share how you are feeling. Find a safe person in your life to share these feelings with. You might call your grandmother or uncle, talk with your family at dinner, share your feelings with your teacher on Seesaw, or think of another safe person in your life to share your feelings with.
Always remember, you are amazing and you are LOVED.
Please have your child complete an extension for each UA class they do not have live this week. Contact the UA teacher(s) if you are unsure which lesson to complete.
