Thank you for all you are doing to provide an amazing support system for your child through his/her learning experience. On this page you will find a list of activities for your child to explore during his/her learning extension days. Please remember that we are here to help and support you along the way.
Please contact us for clarification, support, or questions.
Flex day (Friday) can be used for independent practice of skills, extension activities, or catching up on unfinished work.
** Keep in mind, these activities can be spread out among independent work days.**
Begin with 2 dice and a whiteboard or piece of paper.
Roll the dice to make a 2 digit number.
Roll 2 more times to get two more numbers.
Now add the numbers together!
Choose one of the organizers below to collect and record your information (print or draw your own)
Learn facts about your animal. You might consider using:
National Geographic Kids (This is a GREAT resource!! Click on Animals at the top; you can even search by Animal Group.)
Book(s) from the library or book(s) you may have at home
Other Online Books/Videos/resources (with parent support)
How would you like to share all you have learned? You could write a skit, make a puppet, build the animal and habitat with legos, paint a picture, make a poster, write a poem, or any other creative idea you can think of. The most important thing is you choose something that is fun for you and exciting for your brain!
Find a way to include information about your animal including its habitat, what it looks like, what it eats, adaptations and any other important facts you learned. This information might be included in your skit, on your poster (or whichever method you chose), or can even be shared in a video!
A. Completed Research Organizer (or notes)
B. Pictures and/or a video of your final project
A. Make a list of things you know a lot about that you could teach someone about. These topics could be different animals, sports, book characters, etc. There are so many options! Chat with your family to come up with a great list together.
B. Keep this list in your writing folder so you have it to use in class.
Please have your child complete an extension for each UA class they do not have live this week. Contact the UA teacher(s) if you are unsure which lesson to complete.
