About Jamil
Aloha! My name is Jamil Person and I am a High School Equivalency and High School Diploma support instructor here at TRACE School. I am extremely proud and excited to be a part of such an awesome school and amazing staff who share my passion of learning and educating. I was born and raised in San Diego and was a student within the San Diego Unified School District from kindergarten through twelfth-grade. When I am not at TRACE, you can find me spending time with my family, cooking, gardening, watching basketball, or practicing hot yoga.
My undergraduate Bachelor’s degree was garnered from the University of California, Riverside and I earned my Master’s degree in Education Administration from Alliant International University, in San Diego. I am thrilled to say this is my 3rd year teaching with TRACE School and 20th year teaching with San Diego Unified.
I believe education is one of the most powerful gifts you can give someone. My approach is to teach from the heart while allowing students to discover their own abilities to become positive leaders in the community.
