About Thomas

I started teaching for San Diego Unified in 1999. I have taught mostly middle and high schoolers and am very happy to be working with young adults at TRACE. Before becoming an Education Specialist mild/mod I worked at Palmar Outdoor School (“6^th grade camp”) on Palomar Mountain. I also taught English in Korea for 4 years. I earned my Bachelor of Arts at San Francisco State University and obtained my credential/master’s in education at Azusa Pacific University.

I was born in Chicago and raised in Chula Vista, California where I attended Chula Vista Junior and Senior High. I am married and have 4 children. When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my family. I love to ride motorcycles, travel and camp. I also love fishing but have unfortunately discovered that I am not great at fishing, and most fish are very safe around me. I am relatively new to TRACE and continue to be amazed at all the possibilities and opportunities in working with our amazing students.
