Mobile Phones
If a student brings a mobile phone, a smartwatch or associated device to the College the requirement is:
Mobile phones are to be switched off (or on silent) while at school and locked in lockers during school time (from the first bell at 8:50 am to the last bell at 3:20 pm).
Smartwatches must be in ‘aeroplane mode’ if worn at school.
When not at school but at a school event, mobile phones should remain switched off or on silent, be out of sight, and be in a secure location.
AirPods, Bluetooth headphones, and earbuds must be paired/connected only with school computers. These are only utilised in class with the teacher's permission. Students should only have these devices in the yard or at school events.
Students who need to make an ‘important’ phone call during the day are asked to go to the College office and request assistance from the receptionists.
St Augustine’s College accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage to mobile phones, smartwatches and associated devices such as blue-tooth air pods, earbuds, headphones or blue-tooth speakers.
Parents/caregivers may contact their son or daughter by ringing the College office on (03) 5851 3000. A message will be delivered to the student as soon as is practical & possible. When a student is unwell, contact with parents should be made through the College office.
If students use their mobile phone or associated device during school time (from the first bell at 8:50 am to the last bell at 3:20 pm), staff will confiscate the device and hand it to reception. Parents will be notified via text that the College office has the device. A parent will need to pick up the device from the college office.
