Staff Bios

Hey, my name is Kayla Black, and I am a junior at Saint Joseph High School, taking journalism this year. This will be my second year participating in this class! Outside of school I enjoy working out, playing volleyball, listening to music, and taking naps. I participated in journalism again this year because I enjoyed it so much last year. I hope this year's newspaper is successful and helps bring together the school community.

Hi, I am Gabby Carvens, and  I am a freshman. I play volleyball for school, and for fun. My hobbies include reading, painting, and playing volleyball. I love spending time with my family and friends. My hope for journalism is to express myself, while also helping the school by increasing our views on social media, and putting posts out there for more to learn about our school. I hope to attend a good college and impact our high school. 

My name is Chloe Damico, and I am a sophomore. This is my second year taking Journalism. I play soccer and softball. I took Journalism so I can be more involved in the school while improving my writing. 

Hi, my name is Brayden Ehrman, and I am a sophomore. I am a part of the golf team.  I also play lacrosse for True Pittsburgh under the team the Pittsburgh 79er's. I am big into journalism, so this is my 2nd year. I want to help make the newspaper and yearbook as great as possible, and to make a difference with my voice in the community of Saint Joe's.

Hi, my name is Courtney Mentecki and I am a junior. This is my second year participating in journalism. My hobbies outside of school include listening to music, cheer, and hanging out with friends. My hope for the school newspaper is to bring the school together and help provide information about what is going on at SJHS.  

Hi! My name is Sophia Ranalli and I am a freshman. Some of the hobbies I participate in  out of school include, reading, writing, singing and acting out random scenarios. I chose to be in journalism because I like to express myself through writing and I want to write about events going on in the world or in a small community like our school. I would love to be a writer one day and this class can help me reach that goal.  

Hi my name is Vanessa Schneider and I am a freshman. Outside of school I have been involved in dance for twelve years, and this is my fourth year on the competition team. This is my first time ever writing for my school. SJHS offers so many opportunities for me and I feel like Journalism is going to progress my writing in so many ways, but it will also give me a chance to do some of the things I love.

Hi! My name is Isabella Thomas, and I am a sophomore. I compete in gymnastics for Saint Joe's and Ultimate Gymnastics in Delmont. Outside of school, I enjoy listening to music and hanging out with friends. In Journalism this year, I hope to improve my writing and contribute to the school community.

Hi! My name is Meredith Zendarski and I am a senior. My hobbies are cheerleading, golfing, and talking to my friends. This is my second year taking journalism, and I plan to continue after high school as well! This year I hope to see plenty of student interaction, while also building my own portfolio.
