Crumbl cookie review
By Taylor Hunkele '23 and Brad Roxberry '23
Crumbl Cookies have become an internet sensation. The cookie shop creates new, tasty cookie flavors for its customers to try each week.
On our visit the cookie selection was: Classic pink sugar, Rocky Road, Confetti Cake, and Lemon Cheesecake. The cookies come in a box and retail at $4 each. They are pricey, but definitely big enough to share.
The classic pink sugar cookie is a basic sugar cookie with Crumbl’s signature pink icing. The cookie was fresh and unlike other sugar cookies you buy from a store because it was not dry. While it is not as striking as Crumbl’s other flavors, it is definitely worth a taste. We rate this cookie an eight out of ten.
Rocky Road, while typically known as an ice cream flavor, became a cookie flavor this week. A chocolate cookie with chocolate chips, nuts, and marshmallows seems like a good idea for a cookie, yet it was somewhat underwhelming. The warm and sticky marshmallows made the cookie a very messy snack, and the nuts would just fall off the cookie as you tried to eat it. The flavor was decent. However, it was mostly chocolate that we tasted and the marshmallows and nuts were overpowered by the strong flavor. Overall we rate this cookie a six out of ten.
The confetti cake cookie came out warmer and softer than the other cookies, which were chilled. The cookie had crisp edges and a soft middle covered in sprinkles on top. The cookie tasted just like confetti cake flavors we have had in the past. This cookie had the best texture and flavor in our opinion and, was our favorite. We definitely recommend this cookie and rate it a perfect ten out of ten.
The last cookie we tried was the lemon cheesecake cookie. This cookie was meant to be eaten cold and came with a fresh lemon on top. As fans of both lemon and cheesecake, expectations were high for this cookie. However this dessert was a let down as it was mainly just a lemon meringue flavor and no hint of cheesecake at all.
The lemon flavored icing was too rich and was not what we were expecting. The only plus was the presentation of the cookie as it looked like an Instagram-worthy post. We would not recommend this cookie and rate it a three out of ten.
Overall, Crumbl has a unique concept and some delicious cookies, while also having some offerings that were a let down. We recommend Crumbl to anyone who enjoys cookies or trying new treats.
BRAD & JESSE: THIS OR THAT??
Brad Roxberry '23 and Jesse Bernot '23 give their thoughts.
FAST FOOD EDITION
Best Burger
Brad: Wendy's burger
I think Wendy's has the best burgers. The buns and patty taste fresher than their competitors.
Jesse: McDonald's burgers
I like McDonald's for burgers because they have the quickest service and many convenient locations.
Best Nuggets
Brad: McDonald's nuggets
I think McDonald's has the best nuggets because they are crispier and have better sauces to complement them.
Jesse: Chick-fil-A's nuggets
I like the nuggets at Chick-fil-A better because they taste more tender than other places and are cooked better.
Best Fries
Brad: Wendy's fries
I think Wendy's fries are the best because they are always hot and they have the right amount of salt.
Jesse: McDonald's fries
I like McDonald's because they have enough salt on them to taste good and they are cheap. They also have a fresher taste compared to other fries.
Best Chicken Sandwich
Brad: Chick-fil-A's chicken sandwich
I think Chick-fil-A because the chicken they use tastes the best and I like Chick-fil-A sauce.
Jesse: Burger King's chicken sandwich
I like Burger King chicken better because it is bigger than the others.
