Is Amazon coming to Maine?

By Brady Pierce

Here’s a drone delivering a package.

According to an article by the Portland Press Herald, “Town officials believe a horse racing track, Scarborough Downs, and adjacent land would provide plenty of space to meet Amazon’s demands.” Amazon needs a lot of space because of all the packages and offices and desks in meeting rooms and escalators to move packages storage box storage tape guns and all the essentials you will need to package items plus the inventory. Scarborough would cost more money to amazon because it would be more to fix up.

If Amazon comes to Maine it would create jobs for people and help build maine's economy. Amazon would create 50,000 new jobs in Maine. Amazon is willing to spend five billion dollars to develop a second headquarters. There are over 200 applications from cities around the country.

Jeff Bezos, the owner of Amazon, rejected Maine and is still looking for a second headquarters.

Here are the states that are still in running for Amazon’s new HQ.
