Macro Leaf

The subject of this piece is a zoomed in section of a leaf, to make it I used chalk pastels on drawing paper. I chose a particular corner of my leaf that had multiple colors and textures happening and tried my best to show that through the way that I blended and layered the different color pastels. My project evolved from being very light and pastel-ly to being darker and more deliberate with a more fall leaf feels and less of a bunch of colors randomly placed on a piece of paper. I wouldn't say there is a real story behind my artwork but Fall is by far my favorite season, especially in October, I think it's so beautiful and I adore the changing colors and the bright oranges, and reds and I'm very pleased that I got to turn them into art this season! I think that in order to make this piece stronger I could have been a little more careful and spent some more time blending the pastels together better, because right now I think parts of this look a little rushed.
