Oil Pastel Color Study

The subject of my artwork is supposed to be this Fedex worker, but I gave up due to lack of patience. This lack of patience led me to cropping off the bottom 2/3 of the project. To create this work I went square by square, mixing different colors of oil pastel to create an accurate representation of my reference image. I chose this image because I thought it was going to be a lot more simple than it turned out to be. The elements and principles of design that I used were color, value, and emphasis.

My project didn't change at all through my project because there wasn't much room to add anything creative. I like the way that a lot of my colors turned out but, when I went back to complete this project on June 5th, I didn't have any time to complete the image. I also couldn't remember which combinations of colors I used for the background, or for his skin color. If I created another work like this I would chose an image that had only primary and secondary colors, so that I could create the colors more easily.
