In this art project there was never just one subject, but their were many random objects used for printing. I made this artwork by using a gelatin plate, ink, and miscellaneous objects for unique patterns. The first step of this project was to lay down my sheet of paper, along with a sheet of glass to align my print. I then took my gelatin plate and rolled ink onto it; after that I placed my objects in the ink. I then took my paper and pressed it into the gelatin plate to complete my prints. To create my modified gelatin print I used water color to paint in my negative space. I used color, texture, balance and contrast to create my artwork.
This project was constantly changing because of the frequent experimentation with printing new materials. I like that my prints came out abstract and unique looking. If I created another work like this I would attempt to make it look like something realistic. This work was my first time creating prints using gelatin, thus I learned new skills.
