Final 2D Design

The project that I struggled with most with most was the donate life project. I that drawing was my weakest drawing because I struggled with it a lot. I couldn’t think of a good idea, and when I did I messed up two or three times. The final piece of that drawing the state of maine logo wasn't centered, and I feel like that really though it off. The colors did go together; but the blue and green background was necessary, because of what it stands for. It’s the donate life banner. Overall I feel like this was my weakest project as long of creativity, and design.

The piece I struggled with most even though I mentioned struggling with the donate life project in my last paragraph wasn't the one I struggled with most. The piece I struggled with most was the signature self portrait. I had very hard time matching the values in my drawing with the picture. It was something very new for me, and like anything new to anyone, they will struggle.

I learned a lot throughout this class, and it was a great building block for me as an artist. We did a lot of different unique designs which really helped me with all all aspects of my artist game. I learned how important value is in every drawing, and that a wide range of value can make the picture look so much more creative and interesting. Sizing has also been a big learning block for me; especially in the duck stamp drawing making the ducks and reeds an accurate size to everything else in the picture.

I have improved a lot in this class, but probably the most i've improved on is my values. I’ve tried to really incorporate a good range of value in m previous drawings, and felt confident doing so because I feel like I've grown in that aspect of drawing.

My work illustrates my growth as an artist because if I look back to all my old drawings i’ve grown as an artist; with my value, lines, layer, contrast and more. Even though I’m not taking another art class this year, I can continue to draw, and apply the things i’ve learned in this class to my future drawings.
