Final Artist Statement:
Foundations of Art ended up being one of my favorite classes this year. this is because I found my strengths and weaknesses in the different projects we did. I struggled a lot in the beginning of the year because I wasn't trying my hardest, but towards the end of the year I tried my hardest. Once I did put everything into my artwork, it was hard putting so much time into while having other work in other classes.
When choosing what to do my project on, it was often really easy. when we were giving the project, i would think of what I wanted to do in my head. It only came down to the time and effort. In order to have good art, you need to put in time. Many of my favorite pieces are my favorite pieces because I put so much time and effort into them.
The project I am most proud of is my Mixed Media Photo-Realistic Drawing. This is because once I figured out what to do, the way it turned out was like the picture. I also really liked the meaning behind the photo I took. Although the charcoal was very messy, it made the project look very good. I also liked the scratchboard project because it was really simple and had a great value when it was finished.
