Lichtenstein Square

This artwork is one piece of a puzzle made from a painting by Lichtenstein. It only has two values, a light and a dark. I used black and yellow water color crayons. I chose to use this puzzle piece because I liked the way the lines curve into a circle in the bottom, I thought this would be a fun piece to enlarge. I used the burnishing technique to make the colors more solid, and to make the lines sharper. I think that makes it look a lot better, especially with the crayons because those tend to look bad if they are not burnished. At one point, I changed the vertical lines at the top, to make them more evenly spaced. Something that could be stronger about my artwork would be where the black meets the yellow, they bleed into one another. If I were to do this again I would try to stay inside the lines better.
