I made this linoleum print from a picture of me taken on Mt. Liberty. I made this print by printing out the picture, cropping it down to the size I wanted and transferring it onto the linoleum. I transferred my image by rubbing graphite all over the back of the picture, and then using an H pencil to trace all of the lines so that the graphite of the back of the paper transferred over to the linoleum. I chose to make a linoleum print for my independent project because I really liked carving the linoleum, and transferring ink from the linoleum to a sheet of paper. This project evolved because at first I thought I would need to draw the image onto the linoleum, but then I realized that I could transfer it onto the linoleum, so that definitely saved me a lot of time. One thing I wish I could revise with this project is the bottom portion, because the way I carved it kind of makes it look like flowing water, but I wanted it to look like snow.
