For my multiple pinch pot project, I made an abstract flower. I used 5 pinch pots to assemble the flower. The first pot was very large, and I flipped it over, and pushed down to collapse the top into a volcano shape. I added the next four smaller pots on the side of the large pot using the scratch-and-score technique, to create the flower's petals. I used a wooden tool to pull clay from the larger pot down into the smaller pots, creating a seamless connection. Then I used the wooden tool to carve out small ridges, running from the center to the end of the pedals. I made the ridges to add more texture to my design.
I used a yellow semi-matte glaze, and a black semi-matte glaze for this project. I put yellow glaze on the entire flower first, the I started layering black glaze on the tops of the ridges I made, to make them stand out more. Glazing the flower was slightly difficult because of the spaces in between the bottom of the petals, and the sloped wall of the large pot. I applied three layers of both the yellow and the black glazes.
