Color Study

The setting of my painting is a landscape view. I took the picture at Ricker Hill Orchard in Turner. I made this drawing with oil pastels. I chose to create a drawing of this picture because I thought it looked interesting with some red trees in the middle of a bunch of green trees. I used gridding in this artwork so that I could focus of the color of each individual square. My project changed because at first I used a darker gray for the sky, but I decided that the gray in the picture was much lighter, so I added more white to the gray to make it lighter. One thing that I still want to change is the green for the trees, I think it looks lighter in the drawing than in the picture.
