By the end of the course, students will have developed confidence in using Python to design simple games and tools, laying a strong foundation for future studies in digital technologies, software development, and data science. No prior experience required.

This Year 9 subject introduces students to the essential concepts of financial literacy, equipping them with practical skills for managing money in everyday life. Students will explore topics such as:

• budgeting

• Credit cards, 

• investing, 

• Superannuation

Through real-life scenarios, interactive activities, and digital tools, they will develop an understanding of how financial decisions impact their future. The course encourages critical thinking and informed decision-making, empowering students to take control of their financial wellbeing. Students will initially be challenged with a number of STEM-based design tasks before being tasked with identifying a real-world issue within their own community and work through the design thinking process to develop a meaningful solution. Emphasis is placed on creativity, collaboration, and user-centered design. Through research, brainstorming, hands-on prototyping, and feedback loops, students will build practical skills in critical thinking and communication. 

By the end of the course, students will present their solution in a showcase, demonstrating how thoughtful design can create positive change in the world around them.
