Art Club: Mrs. Scarbrock

The purpose of the art club is to provide art experiences for our art students that are school & community based, as well as fellowship among our art students. sign up in Mrs. Scarbrock's room (104). Meetings happen on Friday mornings at 7:05 a.m. 

Members can enjoy Face painting, art projects & art activities in various school & community functions, art contests, t-shirt designing for the art club, and involvement in homecoming activities.

This club is ideal for freshmen and sophomores who would like to prepare for National Honor Society. A 2.5 minimum GPA is required. This service-based organization seeks to instill responsibility and character building in its members.

Educators Rising is a national organization that aims to inspire high school students to pursue a career in education. Local and State entities come together to provide a clear pathway to increase teacher diversity and teacher quality. 

Join the Google Classroom (CODE: qzvzqcx) and complete the application. This club will meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, during intervention. Join to shadow teachers, create bulletin boards, read/tutor at elementary schools, attend conferences across the state, and learn more about the exciting field of education!

The purpose of the environmental club is to provide awareness of environmental issues in the state of Louisiana. Members can expect to spend time building our small garden and volunteering at local parks (ex: Kistachie National Forest). Apply to this club HERE

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA): Mrs. Andries 

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives… one heart at a time.  Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletes to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.   We encourage all athletes or students that are seeking to know Christ better. Starting after "See You at the Pole" September 22, we will meet every Friday morning in the boys gym from 7:00-7:15 a.m. for fellowship. We will also meet periodically on weekends for intramural sports. Google classroom: 3h3rofb

Healthy Living Club: Ms. Campbell

This club is for any student wishing to establish healthy eating habits as well as a healthy lifestyle. The club will meet every two to three weeks. Members will learn how to meal prep, count calories, learn about daily exercise and general knowledge of good food. 

Key Club: Mrs. Adkins & Mrs. Wester 

Key Club members around the world are learning how to lead and stand for what’s right through service and volunteerism. In partnership with their local Kiwanis club, high school students are making a positive impact as they serve others in their schools and communities. Apply HERE

This club meets on Wednesdays right after school in room 49. Two conferences are held each year in Baton Rouge hosted by the Louisiana YMCA-- in December & February.

National Honor Society:

National Honors society is a collection of ASH's most academically promising students. The club places an emphasis on academic excellence, service to the community, and outstanding character. 

In order to be a member of NHS: students must be a junior or senior, maintain a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA, have taken three Pre-AP, AP, or DE classes, be involved in two or more clubs, and complete three service projects. 

Spanish Club:

The purpose of the Spanish Club is to understand better and promote the Spanish language as well as its diverse cultures. This club will meet once a month during Intervention. Plan on Social gatherings, cultural activities, (if possible) field trips, and fundraisers during this year as a member. Students can join now through the end of the month. 

Spanish Honor Society:

The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH) is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and/or Portuguese, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). The SHH was formally organized as the Spanish National Honor Society in 1953. This club will meet on club days and we also have some after school meetings...to be announced. The purpose of the Spanish National Honor Society is to elevate students' and schools' academics, leadership, and community engagement. SNHS benefits students, communities, and colleges. Colleges have a way of seeing the academic and service commitment of an applicant through his or her membership.  Members also continue to learn about the Spanish language and its cultures. 

Student Council:

The goal of Student Council is to promote a sense of community within the school, act as a voice for students with the administration, provide community service, and raise funds for charitable causes and school improvements. Leadership is a key component of a successful Student Council. Freshmen apply at the beginning of their freshman year. However, students entering into their sophomore, junior, and/or senior year will run for a seat during spring elections. Student Council meets periodically throughout the month- before, during, and/or after school. Student Council is currently accepting freshman applications. The application deadline is Friday, August 27, 2021- 2:30 p.m.. Students may view the application packet on the ASH Freshmen Google Classroom.

The ASH Speech and Debate Club/Team is an extra-curricular club/team designed to build the communication skills of all members. This club/team offers something for everyone. If you like acting, arguing, reading, researching, writing, or just meeting people this team is for you. Club/Team members are eligible for local, state, and national competitions. This team will meet during club days and after school Tuesdays from 2:45-4:00 (more after school practices may be required when preparing for competitions.)
