Youth & Government

The focus of ASH Youth and Government is twofold--YOUTH LEGISLATURE (LEG) and MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN). We are a club that aims to educate our members on current events as well as negotiations that occur statewide, nationwide, and worldwide.

Youth Legislature is a mock version of the Louisiana Senate, House of Representatives, and State Supreme Court while Model UN is a mock version of the United Nations.

Our members develop public speaking skills as well as learn how to search for information on a wide range of topics that include: politics, natural resources, GDP, economic relationships, health care, and modern conflicts.

We also learn about current events and their impact on our state, the U.S., and the world.

As a result, we experience different viewpoints and meet new friends for around the state while attending our two conferences during the year.

At our conferences, we prepare and debate bills (LEG) for assigned committees, as well as create and debate resolutions (MUN) beneficial to the countries we represent as delegates.

ASH Youth and Government is an all-around beneficial club to any and all members.  It is a fun, educational, and overall interesting and enriching experience for all who join and participate.
