About the Library

Checking Out Books

CHROMEBOOKS

Chromebooks are issued through the library at the beginning of each school year.  Please watch the video presentation to learn all the things you will need to know about using your school Chromebook.

The ASH Library catalog is called Destiny. To search the catalog, click HERE.

Follow the onscreen prompts to search for items in the library by keyword, author, title, subject, or series. Write down the call number.

Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader tests are available and may be taken before school, during lunch, and when a teacher brings students during class. Awards will be given for outstanding AR participation.

Use arbookfind.com to learn if a book has an AR test, how many points it is worth, and what reading level it is. Many ASH Library books have AR labels with the points and reading level visible on the cover. Be sure to read the book carefully from cover-to-cover before attempting an AR test.

To take an AR test IN THE LIBRARY, click on the button below. Use your PowerSchool username and password. Then, follow the onscreen prompts. Be sure to record your score for later use.

Library Guidelines

Library Hours

7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The media center is open student use before school, during lunch, and after school.

HALL PASSES ARE REQUIRED DURING CLASS TIME!

To be approved for a library visit during the school day, a student must have a special pass issued by the sending teacher, including: name, assignment, time, and date. The library is open for use during the Intervention/Enrichment class at 3rd period.

Printing and Copying

A wireless printer is available for use at the circulation desk.  You may use a school issued chromebook to make printouts.  There is a ten cents per page fee for this service.  Please be prepared to pay as you print.

Multiple copies of the same page will be done at the circulation desk. Do not print multiple copies of like pages from a chromebook.

Do not print with dark backgrounds. See a library assistant for help on making printouts of slide presentations.

Discipline

Any student causing a disturbance will be immediately dismissed and sent back to class or back to common student areas if during open use time.

PLEASE VISIT THE ASH LIBRARY
