4-H

The 4-H club provides students with hands on opportunities to build skills such as responsibility and hard work. The four H's are- head, heart, hands, and health. Students in this club often participate in showing livestock at local events, and are encouraged to, "Learn by doing."

Educators Rising

Educators Rising cultivates highly skilled educators by guiding young people on a path to becoming accomplished teachers, beginning in high school and extending through college and into the profession. However, but we also welcome students that do not plan to go into education. We want all students to become strong advocates for education. Our club participates in activities at our school as well as other schools. We attend conferences at LSUA and NSU, participating in competitions at the regional and state level.

ASH Youth & Government

The focus of ASH Youth & Government is twofold--YOUTH LEGISLATURE (LEG) & Model UN (MUN). ASH Y&G is a club that aims to educate its members on current events as well as negotiations that occur statewide, nationwide, and worldwide. LEG is a mock version of the Louisiana Senate, House of Representatives, and State Supreme Court while MUN is a mock version of the United Nations. Members develop public speaking skills as well as learn how to search for information on a wide range of topics; these may include politics, natural resources, GDP, economic relationships, health care, and modern conflicts. We also learn about current events and their impact on the state, the U.S., and the world. Our students are able to experience different viewpoints and meet new friends from around the state while attending our two conferences during the year.
