Landscape

When you are done with your still life, it will be your responsibility to have multiple landscape images to choose from to begin painting. You should be taking photos NOW. Do not wait.

Criteria:

• • Must be of nature

  • Must include a horizon line

  • Include a center of interest

  • Should play with lighting...the "magic hour" at sunset is a great time to shoot

  • Can use silhouettes, but want to limit them

  • Everything should be in focus, difficult to paint things that are blurry

  • Consider the rule of thirds, think about foreground/middle ground/background

  • If the sky is interesting, lower skyline. If the ground is interesting, raise the skyline

  • Can utilize framing to make a strong composition

  • ***Take multiple photos at each spot***
