To create in Photoshop:
1) Drag your back ground photo over the PS icon for it to open
2) Crop it to 8"x10" using the crop tool and setting the presets on the top tool bar. Double click on the image or hit return to apply the transformation
Portraits:
· Someone in class
· Take 30-45 total photos of the person making different expressions in different light
· Focus on different parts of their face (if their ears are in focus, their nose probably isn’t)
· Using only parts of the face in SHARP focus, use the rectangular marquee tool to cut out squares/rectangular parts of the face and overlap them
· 8” x 10” background
· Use 15-20 total different photos
· Save a copy of your psd file as: Last Name_Portrait.jpg
· Email to me with the Subject: Portrait
7) You can move images around by moving your layers on the right hand side. You can delete layers, if needed also, by dragging them to the mini-trashcan on the Photoshop window.
5) Edit/Copy (command + C), then go to your background image and Edit/Paste (command + V)
6) Move and/or resize using the move tool. Make sure the box next "Transform Controls" on the top window is checked to use this feature
3) Drag other photos over the PS icon. They will automatically open in other tabs on the Photoshop window (notice the tabs on the image above, those are each photo that has been drug in)
4) Use the rectangular marquee tool to select the area you'd like to use (see below, student is selecting the ear/earring)
