* We will study several contemporary artists who either use stencils, performance art, or both
*Along with 2 partners, you will select a Social Issue (social issue is defined as: a problem that influences many citizens, people seek to solve it, has conflicting views on how to solve it) anywhere from the personal to worldwide level
*Research the social issue. 5 facts and a 6th fact that really surprised you
*Select which position you're taking or what you're trying to say for your Public Service Announcement Poster
*Begin sketching out ideas with limited words, focus on visual symbols to represent your concept
*We will clean up your best idea and turn it into a final master drawing that includes 4 colors
*You will trace a stencil for each color that will be pinned down and sprayed to create a final spray paint PSA poster
*You will videotape your work to include as a performance aspect

The final project featured above also showcases the master drawing and the 3 stencils (brown, green, blue). You want the part to be open that needs to be that color and everything else to be covered.
Humanitarian is a person who seeks to promote human welfare: a philanthropist
Performance art is an artwork or art exhibition created through actions executed by the artist or other participants. It may be live, through documentation, spontaneously or written, presented to a public in a Fine Arts context, traditionally interdisciplinary.
Watch student performance videos:
https://youtu.be/BD1AejhOohc (nice job of entertaining, but probably not the best quality of spray painting)
https://youtu.be/dPugpbTkLkA (nice job spray painting, but not really "entertaining")
https://youtu.be/13zCFte4lI0 (entertaining and good usage of speed painting)
You need to submit a 30-45 second video "performing" during your spray paint section of the project.
