Assignment (this will take a little under one quarter of the semester to complete):
*Take a photo of a classmate. If you utilize the doorframe as the outside edge of the page, that should help some. Sit on something or kneel so you can get a straight on angle that doesn't give you any foreshortening.
* Draw them using charcoal on a final page
*Tips:
Print reference image and draw contour lines directly on it.
Start with the shoulder line and build torso from there. Everything else comes off of the torso.
It's okay to have lines on it, but draw LIGHTLY and finish all body parts before adding details or value.
Example of 7 1/2 heads utilizing the entire paper for a standing figure.
Lizzie Danielson's final drawing of Becca. Uses the whole page and accurate proportions.
Victoria Olson's final drawing of Annie. She is squatting, so a little less of the paper is used, but she makes her as big as she can. Great use of accurate values and a strong value range on this one.
Laurel Osborn's final drawing of Carly. Great use of light values and sharp contrast with tiny details.
