Think about what symbols represent you for your background. You can draw them with pencil first and then add as many colors as you'd like.

Student example of the value scale, the gradient value scale, and creating the rose out of value. (We used a light box to trace the contour lines. I'm more worried about the value than that you can draw a rose).
