A world language is an academically rigorous course requiring students to complete work outside the classroom. Students will be required to speak to classmates and the teacher in the language studied daily. Students will memorize vocabulary and grammatical structures for written and oral performance. Each level of the language consists of increasingly more complex skills and concepts. Each new level builds on the previous level. Therefore, it is recommended that a student has a “C” or better in one level in order to continue to the next level. Students may not enroll in more than one language as freshmen. Students may enroll in an additional language class as sophomores after gaining language learning experience.
