日本では、主にPASMOとSUICAという2つのプリペイド式の交通系ICカードがあります。これらは立教大学のキャンパスがある池袋、埼玉を含め、ほぼ日本全国の公共交通機関を利用する際に使用できます。PASMOとSUICAは発行元が異なりますが、使い方はどちらも同じです。

しかし、半導体不足のため、現在PASMO/SUICAの販売を各社が一時停止しており、来日時に空港で入手することができません。

ただ、9月11日､12日に学生証を配布しますので、そのあとに通学定期券*と同時に購入することは可能です。スマートフォンでPASMO/SUICA機能を利用することもできますので、ご希望の方はモバPASMO／モバイルSuicaを参考にしてください。

*通学定期券を購入すると、定期券区間内（居住地～通学キャンパス区間）であれば追加の運賃はかからずに移動できます。

Please note that in Japan there are two types prepaid transportation cards (PASMO & SUICA) with widespread use almost all over the country and definitely in Tokyo and Saitama where the two campuses of Rikkyo are located. Unfortunately, you will not be able to purchase them at the airport. (Due to the current shortage of semiconductors there is a very limited number of these cards. You still will be able to buy one together with your commuter pass after you receive your student ID cards on September 11 or 12. You can also have a SUICA/ PASMO card added to your smartphone after you complete your address registration at the city office (mobile SUICA/PASMO). 

* If you purchase a student commuter pass you can move freely within the commuter pass area (between the nearest station to your address and the university campus) without paying extra fare.
