NJHS Hosts Bake Sale
The National Junior Honor Society at George Washington Middle School will soon be hosting a bake sale.
Mr. Neville, the 7th-grade Monroe house teacher, says that the NJHS has decided to hold a bake sale “to do a little organization within the honor society able to put together a function, have the officers understand how to plan and also collect money in the appropriate way to give a donation publicly.”
Student members of the NJHS are able to sign up for different roles. NJHS students were given access to a sign-up sheet for setting up, baking, and cleaning up. “They’re not required to, but we’d appreciate all the help and the donations that people can offer,” says Alexa Katsaros, an 8th-grader and the elected student president of the National Junior Honor Society.
Penelope de Valence, a 7th-grade Monroe student in the NJHS, says, “I think it’s a good idea to get the NJHS promoted, and then more people will be willing to support it.” Penelope was surprised to learn that the NJHS would be having a bake sale but thinks that it will be beneficial to the organization and is considering baking something for the bake sale.
The bake sale will be on Wednesday, June 14th, by the Monroe Street entrance to GW after school.
