The Upcoming GWMS Carnival
The George Washington Middle School eighth grade carnival event is going to be set up, and will happen soon.
This carnival is an event that allows eighth graders to participate in activities and games with friends throughout the school day. All eighth graders will be attending the carnival, and their teachers will also attend the carnival along with the parents from the Home and School Association.
Mr. Monahan, the GWMS Vice Principal states, “The carnival is part of a series of events to celebrate our culmination of eighth grade year as we promote our students from middle school here at GW to Ridgewood High School or wherever they might go to high school next year,” the carnival allows eighth graders to take a break from their work and enjoy themselves before graduating GWMS.
Jason Katz, an eighth grader attending says, “I’ll miss one day, but you know, it’s gonna be pretty fun, I think it’s going to be great.” The carnival will be for around three periods of the day, and lets the students take a break from their overall work. It will end at 2:30 p.m.
The games and activities will be set up on Citizen’s Field, which is across from GWMS. Nora Cullen, an eighth grader attending the carnival says, “From what I saw last year, I’m pretty sure there’s a company that helps set up the rides, but if there is an option to help set up something, I might help.” The rides will include inflatables and slides, and will be paid for by the parents.
The Eighth Grade Carnival will be set to happen on Thursday, June 15th at Citizens Field, during the eighth grade lunch at 11:30 in the afternoon.
