8th Graders Return From the D.C. Trip
Students recently returned from the annual Washington D.C trip. This trip is for 8th graders and is two nights long. They left on the morning of Wednesday, May 31st and returned on Friday, June 2nd.
The administrators say that they have worked hard and put in lots of effort to prepare for this trip. Mr. Monahan is an assistant principal of the school and helped prepare for the trip, he states,
“Dr. K spends a lot of time preparing for this trip with help from some of her assistants. We also have the luxury of hiring a company that plans the buses, the hotels, the food, and the visits, and that makes it very helpful.”
George Washington Middle School students have looked forward to this trip. Asher Rogin, an 8th grader who went on the trip, thought that the trip was very fun and enjoyable. He says,
“I thought it was a great experience and it was fun to see all of the interesting sights. The best part of the trip was just spending time with all your friends. The 7th graders should be looking forward to this trip without a doubt.”
Similar to the students, chaperones of this trip had positive feedback about the eighth graders and enjoyed it. Mr. Ponchak, the Monroe House 7tth grade math teacher, went on the trip. He thinks that the trip was a great experience for him and the students.
“I thought the D.C. trip was great. The students were really well behaved and did a great job of keeping up with the deadlines for when we were supposed to meet up. It was a great time.”
Mr. Ponchak shared some of his highlights of the trip which included the dinner cruise, Doyle’s Outpost, and the National History Museum.
8th graders will continue to go on the Washington D.C. trip for the foreseeable future.
