The goal of the Activators series is to empower PLCs to be goals-oriented, reflective, and committed to action. PLC Activators are teacher leaders who believe in their own efficacy as well as collective teacher efficacy. They will be given strategies for strengthening their cultures, building structures for efficiency, and establishing practices for PLC work (planning, assessments, and data analysis) in addition to tools for coaching their peers. Sessions should be selected based on need. Activators do not need to attend all sessions.

The PLC Lab experience is designed to equip participants with the tools and strategies needed to support the Teacher Clarity Work in collaborative teams. While using live observation models and problem of practice discussions, Dr. Nicole Law will lead the group to better practices to coach collaborative teams to high levels of functionality and impact.

Join the Catawba Cultural Center and UNC-CH Research Laboratories of Archaeology for a professional development workshop to help educators understand and teach about Indigenous heritage. You’ll learn about Catawba history and culture, archaeology 101, and the vibrant people of the Catawba Nation today. It’s guaranteed to be an engaging and inspiring day for all!
The workshop is FREE to all attendees with lunch provided. If you’re interested in attending or just would like more information, please fill out the online pre-registration form. When registration opens in late August we will email you with the link to officially register for the workshop and provide some additional details about the day.
The workshop will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Catawba Cultural Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Engaging Students in Asking Questions and Defining Problems
This webinar includes a mini lesson on the SEP Asking Questions and Defining Problems and time to dig into resources to support this SEP. After the conclusion of the webinar, there will be time for the Science Standards Team to address pre-submitted questions related to science standards and instruction. All questions must be submitted by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 to be addressed during this webinar.
