Administrator Webinar
The ELA standards team is pleased to announce a two-hour webinar via Microsoft Teams for administrators supporting the implementation and instruction of the 2023 SC CCR ELA Standards. This webinar will take place on Monday, June 24 from 10am-12pm.
Participants can expect an engaging professional development session designed to empower school administrators with the tools and strategies necessary to effectively align teacher evaluation practices with the 2023 SC CCR ELA Standards. This session will provide an overview of key components of the standards and practical insights into the evaluation of teachers of language arts using the South Carolina Teaching Standards 4.0 rubric.

The Personalized Learning Team will offer free, engaging professional learning opportunities for 2024-2025. These learning experiences are designed to meet the diverse needs of educators in implementing a student-centered approach to teaching and learning. Understanding that educators may be at different stages of readiness and implementation, we offer multiple entry points to ensure educators can access and engage in the learning at their own level. Each of our professional learning opportunities provides educators the chance to earn renewal credit.

Unique Opportunity for Grade 8 and USH Educators Statewide
Participate in a research initiative for the 2024-2025 school year, in partnership with the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and collaborators including the University of Florida, WestEd, and the University of Texas. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, this initiative focuses on the Promoting Adolescents’ Comprehension of Text (PACT) study.
PACT offers evidence-based social studies and literacy teaching strategies that have shown remarkable effectiveness over a decade of research, enhancing students’ social studies content knowledge, literacy skills, and academic language proficiency.
Participating schools and districts will receive comprehensive PACT materials at no cost, including teachers’ guides, student books, and professional development resources. Educators will also receive compensation for assisting with data collection efforts.
