After you pass your content test, the next step in the certification process is to take and pass the official PPR exam.
The official PPR exam is 100 questions and covers a variety of domains and competencies related to instruction, assessment, classroom environment, and professional responsibilities. It’s a lot to study for but we are confident you will have a strong plan of action! See below for next steps:
Step 1: Review the study materials. Begin by reading the exam framework, the competencies, and the descriptive statements. Make note of any unfamiliar terms in the descriptive statements. Take a diagnostic test to determine if further study is needed. If so, make a study plan, and stick with it! You may find the preparation resources linked below to be useful.
Step 2: Take and pass an approved practice test. For more information on practice tests and passing scores, read the Relay Texas Guide to Testing Permission.
Step 3: Submit passing practice score report to My Checklist & receive official testing permissions.
Step 4: Register for official PPR EC-12 exam.
Step 5: Take & pass official PPR EC-12 exam. Refer back to your certification handbook for your PPR EC-12 deadline.
