As a national institution of higher education, Relay is closely monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), local health departments, and state & territorial health department websites and will provide updates on Relay’s response to this pandemic to help protect the health and safety of our AmeriCorps members as they arise.

Tax Resources- Tax season is upon us. If you used $600 or more of an AmeriCorps Segal education award in 2019, log into your MyAmeriCorps Portal to access your 1099 tax form. You will see My Tax Statements listed on the left hand menu. If you have any issue logging in, please call the National Service Hotline at 1-800-942-2677. You can also locate links to more tax information here on the Resources page under Segal Education Award.

AmeriCorps Mid-year Evaluations- The deadline for signing Mid-year Evaluations and submitting the PK-12 Data Survey was Friday, February 21. Completing these quick action items is a requirement for all Relay AmeriCorps members. If you have not completed these actions, please check your email for a DocuSign Mid-year Evaluation and complete the PK-12 Data Survey here.
Service Event Reminder- Can you believe it is already March? As you are making plans for the spring, we strongly encourage you to take a look at the Service Events page and find a way you can serve at an event before the end of the school year. There are still a few months left in this school year for you to impact the greater service community as a Relay AmeriCorps member.
Texas Member Online Training- Hello Relay Texas! All AmeriCorps members in Texas are required to be trained in basic disaster services. As members with Relay, you are professional corps members and will not be deployed in times of natural disaster (like Hurricane Harvey). However, the Texas AmeriCorps state commission(OneStar) requests that you view this Training Video by the end of the service term (June 5, 2020). Thank you in advance!
MLK Day 2020- For 25 years, our nation has celebrated the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday as a national day of service. Through your hours of service and volunteering, you have helped move us closer to the “Beloved Community” for which Dr. King worked. A big “Thank You!” to our members who served in your communities over the holiday weekend in January. AmeriCorps Week 2020- Each year, the Corporation for National and Community Service (i.e., AmeriCorps National) designates a week in March as an annual celebration of all the ways national service members- like YOU, give their time and energy to improve communities across the nation. The national theme is #MadeinAmeriCorps. Be sure to check out social media for highlights and special features throughout the week.
Day of the A Photo Contest- Get your cameras ready! AmeriCorps week starts next Monday, March 9th. Relay AmeriCorps is hosting our annual AmeriCorps Week Photo contest and will be looking for a fantastic post to crown this year’s winner with a gift card prize!
To enter the contest, please take a photo of yourself showcasing national service pride with the AmeriCorps A (see examples here).
