After constructing their robots, fifth grade students are transitioning into the coding phase to prepare for their classroom robotics competition. In this challenge, students will program their robots to navigate the competition mat, collect designated color cubes, and return them to home base. Students took ownership by assembling the mat themselves and are excited to learn more about coding the robots for the next stage of the project.
Our fifth graders are kicking off robotics season by organizing and restocking their VEX IQ kits in preparation for next week’s design and build challenges. Thanks to Jo Weller from the Brown Family Foundation, who connected us with a donation of unused robotics kits, we now have 14 boxes of additional parts to fuel innovation. These resources will give students more opportunities to practice engineering design, coding, and problem-solving. Thank you, BFFKC, for helping us make this connection!
