I live in Eastern Washington where the sun shines most of the year, which is wonderful because sunshine and water are my favorite things! This means that as soon as it's warm out, you can find me and my 4 kiddos splashing in a local river, lake or in the pool.

We are a homeschooling family and have been doing so for the last 7 years since our first child started kindergarten. We really enjoy learning together and have kids in 1st, 3rd, 5th and 6th. Our favorite part of homeschooling is learning together, focusing on individual interests and being able to spend lots of time outside!

I became a high school social studies teacher 15 years ago, gained a Master's degree in the Art of Education, added an elementary endorsement to my certificate and have enjoyed all the students I've gotten to work with over the years. There were several years I didn't teach in a classroom as our family lived overseas in London, England and Izmir, Turkey. Upon returning to the US we began homeschooling!

I joined the Pearl faculty in January of 2021 to fill the role of substitute teacher. It is a role I enjoy as I get to meet ALL the Pearl students at some point during the year. At the beginning of the 2022/2023 I also took on the role of Instructional Enrichment Coordinator and in 2023/2024 I took on a small caseload of families that I get to work with regularly. I really enjoy each aspect of my various PEARL roles!
