A long long time ago in a galaxy far away I was a teacher in the public school system. I taught 4th grade for two years and then taught 6th grade and PE for four years. Then we had our son, Paxton, and I decided to stay at home. After having our second child, Norelle, I thought, why not homeschool?! So began the adventure. I have been homeschooling for 6 years now and have three kids. We are a part of a weekly co-op that I am a tutor for and I also teach a weekly PE class. Being a teacher in my home is profoundly difficult and often but not always, rewarding. I love the relationships that I get to have with my kids and watch them grow in character and love for others.
I am so thrilled to have an opportunity to be a professional again as I joined the Pearl team at the beginning of the 2022/2023 school year.
In my spare time I really enjoy running, exercising, and being in nature. Whether that be hiking, camping or trail running we get outside a lot. I teach swim lessons on the weekend and coach a young kids running club in the spring. We own a lovely old Vanagon that houses our family on many road/camping trips. And we love the adventure of it all.
