Jodi Kieffer

This is my 24th year working in education. I’ve been a certified K-8 teacher with special education, early childhood education, and reading endorsements since 1999 from Saint Martin’s University. I received my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership/Administration in 2008 from City University of Seattle. I finished my Principal Certification in 2014. My professional life has included public and private/alternative/homeschool venues, both teaching and in administration.

This is my twelfth year as a PEARL teacher and the tenth year as the principal. I have also been a PEARL parent for three years. I was a PEARL parent before I became a PEARL teacher. Yep that is right; I have experienced PEARL from both the parent and teacher side. I am continuously amazed by and admire the work and dedication of PEARL parents! I continue to be a .2 PEARL teacher as well as principal.

Now, I will move on and tell you a little about my life outside of school. My husband, Robert, passed away 7 years ago. We have four wonderful children. Three are biological and one came to us during his first year of high school. They are Bailey, Juan, Noah and Nathan. I have two grandbabies, Nylah and Malikai. The youngest kid is now 19. I am now an empty nester and currently dating a great man named Grant.

I live in Quilcene where I have lived all my life with the exception of 4 years when I moved away for college. I enjoy sports, camping, traveling, reading, taking pictures and most of all spending time with family and friends. We have lots of family that live in the Quilcene area and we get together often.

I have a great passion for education and alternative learning. Dyslexia is one of my most recent areas of interest and focus. This has been an area of interest for me since my son was diagnosed back in 5 th grade. I LOVE working with PEARL!
