Orientation Sessions to Research
A series of lectures was organized by the faculty members to orient and guide students towards Action Research. The sessions were conducted by Ms. Sonia Bombacha and Ms. Steffi Colaco on 3rd and 4th October 2025. Ms. Sonia Bombacha introduced students to the concept of educational research and Action Research, explaining its purpose, nature, and the various steps involved in conducting an Action Research project. Ms. Steffi Colaco focused on Review of Related Literature and introduced students to various research tools and techniques used for data collection. The sessions provided students with a foundational understanding of the research process and equipped them with the knowledge required to plan and undertake their Action Research projects.
Action Research conducted by students across various schools during Internship
The students undertook Action Research on pertinent educational topics in their respective internship groups in Semester IV, across various schools and institutions, under the guidance and mentorship of faculty members. The research studies undertaken included:
Ms. Steffi Colaco mentored a group of students who conducted a study on "The Effectiveness of Strategies for Enhancing Time Management as an Essential Life Skill Among Grade 8 School Students of SSC Board..”
Ms. Sonia Bombacha guided students in conducting research on “A Study of the Influence of Smartphones in the Lives of Teenagers.”
Ms. Sanika Asolkar guided students in conducting a study on “Survey of Physical Health Awareness among School Students.”
Ms. Serena Gonsalves guided students in conducting a study on" A Study on Strategies to Enhance Time Management Skills and their Impact on Personal and Academic Success."
The research experiences enabled students to identify educational issues, collect and analyse data, and apply research processes to address concerns emerging from their internship settings.
Seminar Presentations conducted by students
A Research Presentation Seminar was organized on 7th March 2026, providing students with a platform to present research papers based on the Action Research undertaken during their internship. The seminar enabled students to share their findings, discuss the topics explored, and engage in meaningful academic discussions. It also helped students deepen their understanding of the research process, enhance their confidence and presentation skills, and appreciate the relevance of research in the field of education.
Session on AI in Education by Ms Sweedal Colaco
Developing Effectiveness and learning to use AI in classroom is the need of the hour. Ms. Sweedal Colaco an expert in this field with a diverse experience in teaching conducted an enriching workshop for the students based on hands on and practical learning how to use various applications like NotebookLM, Canva and many more that not only help reduce the burden but also make teaching process effective and an engaging experience.
Felicitation of the alumni of the college on successful completion of their PhD
The Anweshan Research Cell of Pushpanjali College of Education and the Alumni Association of Pushpanjali College of Education, Vasai (West), organized a Felicitation Programme and Research Presentation of its distinguished alumni on 7 th March 2026 in the Lecture Hall. The cell felicitated Dr. Ranjeeta Gomes, Dr. Archana Alphanso, Dr. Lildred Dabreo and Dr. Rovena Salian. The programme was a celebration of academic excellence and scholarly achievement, aimed at inspiring student-teachers to pursue higher studies and research.
