Conceptualized by Faculty member Dr Agnes DCosta
About the innovation: We often come across issues with respect to our environment (either physical or work related). It is necessary to delve into means to resolve these issues. For this it is necessary to connect to the environment and identify the issue, collaborate with peers and experts to understand their views and together create a solution. The learning strategy ‘Connect, Collaborate, Create’ aims at facilitating thinking routines that will help to address an issue and find a viable solution. The idea Connect, Collaborate, Create aims at helping student-teachers to connect with issues related to their environment (physical or work related), then collaborate with peers and mentors and identify solutions to address the issue. The idea was tried out for the topic Urban Sprawl which is a topic in the course Environmental Education. The idea bagged the first position at an intercollegiate event for faculty organised by University of Mumbai’s Dept of Education and Pillai’s College of Education and Research.
