In house Discussion on Higher Education as per NEP 2020
On 22 September 2021, the college faculty participated in an in house discussion on the National Policy of Education 2020 and discussed its implications with respect to Teacher Education and Higher Education. Dr Agnes DCosta was the resource person and she elucidated the pillars of NEP 2020.the recommendations with respect to school education and higher education were duly discussed.

Discussion on UGC guidelines about transforming HEIs to Multidisciplinary institutions
On 2 September 2022, UGC released the guidelines to transform higher education institutions into multidisciplinary institutions. The Principal and faculty studied the document and had a discussion on 8 Sept. Academic collaboration between institutions through “clusters” of HEIs, promotion of multi-disciplinary education and research in online and offline modes were some topics discussed.
2022-23
Round Table on Quality Enhancement of Teaching Learning
On 16 May 2023, the faculty had a discussion on teaching learning and evaluation. The discussion mainly centred around aspects like PLOs and CLOs, multi modal approaches to learning and constructivist approach as applied to Teacher Education. Criterion Two of NAAC SSR manual was perused through and at relevant stages reflection was induced to examine what gas need to be addressed. The newly inducted faculty members were specially oriented to the various metrics and the need for proper planning, execution and documentation were duly emphasized. These discussions were led by IQAC coordinator Dr Agnes Dcosta. The faculty also deliberated on recent documents of UGC such as National Higher Education Quality Framework and National Credit Framework. Faculty members shared some activity-based techniques that they have used in their teaching learning.
2022-23
Workshop on Creating Online Courses
On 2nd September 2023, free workshop on Creating Online Courses was organised by Pushpanjali College of Education and St. Teresa’s Institute of Education. Dr Agnes Dcosta, Associate Professor, Pushpanjali College of Education was the resource person for this two-hour workshop. She guided the participants to create their own accounts on the platform and helped them prepare a course with basic modules. Various features like adding pages, assignments, quizzes, E discussions, uploading learning material, embedding videos, links and rubrics were demonstrated. Participants had a hands-on experience and were successful in creating a course incorporating different features.
2023-24
Expert guidance on Quality Assurance: A guided discussion focusing on "Navigating Quality Assurance in Teacher Education" was conducted on 24 Jan 2024. The discussion, organized by the college IQAC, aimed to enhance the understanding of faculty on the various criteria outlined in the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) manual. The resource person Dr. Cindrella Dmello (Associate Professor, St. Teresa’s Institute of Education, Mumbai and IQAC member) provided an in-depth overview of quality in the context of teacher education. She delved into strategies for infusing quality into different aspects of teacher education, including curriculum planning, teaching-learning methodologies, and evaluation processes.
Discussion on NAAC Binary System: The Dr K. Radhakrishnan Report January 2024, proposed transformative reforms for strengthening Assessment and Accreditation of higher education institutions in India. To understand the proposed changes, the faculty had a discussion led by IQAC coordinator Dr. Agnes Dcosta. The session highlighted the ten broad areas with focus on input, process and output aspects. Each area was examined with respect to the metrics for affiliated colleges. Extensive discussion was held on quality initiatives that can be incorporated.
Session on AI tools for research: An interactive session on AI Tools for Research was organised for the faculty on 20 Aug 2024. IQAC coordinator Dr Agnes Dcosta shared how to use free platforms like Research Rabbit, Consensus to identify related researches and also organise the same according to appropriate themes. Sr Delicia Fernandes shared how Zotero can be used to cite research and manage bibliographic data.

Title: Effective Use of AI in Research
Resource Person: Dr. Agnes D'costa
Date: 13th September 2024
Dr. Agnes D'costa oriented the facutly on different sources of finding synopsis, thesis and research materials on pertinent topics. She highlighted the effective use of of AI for literature review, citation, data analysis, writing, editing and publishing research papers. It was indeed a helpful session for all the faculty members.

Date: 18th January 2025
Teachers from various schools in Vasai and Teacher Education facutly attended the workshop. Mr. Willibrord had an energetic start to the session. He emphasized on the use of AI for classroom communication. He oriented the teachers on the use of MetaAI constructively for planning of teaching-learning activtities. He interacted with the attendees of the workshop on various levels and encouraged active participation of both the teachers and the students in the classroom. The workshop was an energetic and enriching experience for all the teachers.

Dr Cindrella Dmello guided and oriented all the staff members on the methodology of research and how to present the findings of a study effectively in a research papep. She suggested various physical and e resources that are helpful for data analysis, learning the methodology and nature of various research. The session was insightful for all the novice staff of Pushpanjali College of Education.

Date: 8th February 2025
Dr. Giselle Dsouza effectively highlighted the importance of nurturing a positive mindset and its benefits in our daily lives. She emphasised on the importance of "sages" - the positve factors influencing our lives and how to manage "saboteurs" the negative factors that weigh us down, for nurturing positive mindset of an individual. The session was an enriching expereince for all the facutly members.

Date: 12th June 2025
Fr Joye Thomas emphasised on importance of awareness among teachers. He explained how awareness is connected with having a deeper understanding. In his opinion having knowledge is not enough, as a teacher one must be aware of the consequences of knoweledge. Fr Joye spoke about the various components of Emotional Intelligence. He also elaborated on different parenting styles, and how each style has its impsct on the development of the child. Fr Joye carefully dealt with the topic of Child Abuse and how teachers and parents can play the role of counsellors. He spoke about the child rights and POCSO Act, 2012. The session was an enriching experience for all the teachers as there was a lot to learn from the experiences shared by Fr Joye. "Awareness is Healing" was an important message he urged to instill among teachers.

Fr Vijay spoke on the important role a teacher plays in the life of the students. He highlighted on how having belief in oneself can help us grow. The session was interactive as teachers shared their various expereinces with each other. He highlighted on the importance of professionalism in the life of the teachers. He led the all the faculty members into discussion on teacher's attitude towards students and parents, student's attitude towards school and their parents and parents attitude towards their wards. The faculty members breifly presented their thoughts. Fr Vijay briefly summed up on the responses. The session was indeed an enlightening session for all the facutly members.

Title: Orientation Session for Faculty on Institutional Code of Conduct
Resource Person: Sr. Delicia Fernandes, I/C Principal
Date: 6th August 2025
An orientation session on Institutional Code of Conduct for the teaching faculty was held on 6th August 2025. The meeting began on a prayerful note following which, Sister Delecia Fernandes presented a comprehensive overview of the institutional code of conduct highlighting key professional expectations.
She emphasized on the importance of punctuality and attendance, advising faculty to arrive at least ten minutes before the scheduled start and remain on campus during working hours, sign attendance registers or biometric logs, obtain prior approval for leaves, and observe limits on casual or medical leave per institutional norms. Next, she outlined the dress code, which calls for neat, modest, formal attire that reflects professional dignity, and mandating visible identity cards and appropriate grooming. The curricular and co‑curricular responsibilities were also addressed: faculty are expected to prepare lesson plans, complete the syllabus on time, engage in teaching, tutorials, assessments, and invigilation, plus coordinate and participate actively in co‑curricular or extension activities alongside academic duties.
Concerning behavior and attitude with students, she stressed impartial, respectful treatment of all students, cultivating a supportive learning environment, encouraging participation, maintaining decorum, and serving as ethical role models. Finally, on professional upgradation, she urged faculty to pursue continuous growth through attending seminars, workshops, conferences, publishing research, participating in professional networks, and submitting performance‑appraisals to enhance teaching methodology and academic qualifications. The meeting was drawn to closure by a thankyou note by all the staff members.
Title: The ITEP Compass: Navigating the New NCTE Guidelines
Resource Person: Dr. Sybil Thomas, Principal, St. Andrew's College, Bandra
Date: 7th August 2025
Dr. Sybil gave a brief orientation to autonomy, rules, terms and conditions for autonomous colleges, role of university in integrated teacher, education programme, role of management and extent of government intervention in autonomous colleges, UGC norms and regulations the purpose of autonomy being quality Dr Professor Sybil Thomas gave a brief description on academic council for autonomous College board of studies for the courses that are offered the role of parent body in colleges, the role of IQC, the construction of syllabus and assessment patterns mam gave a brief description of the hierarchy in the Constitution of autonomous colleges. Ma’am gave a brief description of UGC norms and regulations. She provided a thorough roadmap for autonomy and how autonomy will be helpful for establishment of integrated teacher education programme. The session was open for discussion pairing. There was discussion on the importance of autonomy and how integrated Teacher education program will be brought into implementation. Dr Agnes D’costa proposed the formal vote of thanks, and the meeting was drawn to closure.

Dr Agnes D’Costa, Associate Professor, and an expert provided a comprehensive orientation on the critical importance of child safety, both in general and specifically within school environments.
Key points covered by Dr Agnes included:
The need for safety for all, with a particular emphasis on children’s safety in schools.
Understanding the legal age of 18 years as the defining threshold of childhood.
An overview of the legal framework in India concerning the rights of children and the responsibilities of institutions.
Insights from the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India regarding child protection.
The multi-dimensional aspects of child protection, including physical, mental, emotional, societal, digital, and online safety. Detailed guidelines of the Child Protection Policy, emphasizing the code of conduct expected from all staff. The importance of police verification for all school personnel as a preventive measure.The establishment of a Child Protection Committee in every institution and the requirement to maintain documentation of all meetings and actions taken. The session was highly informative and served as a vital step towards reinforcing a culture of safety, respect, and accountability within the school environment

A Session on Value-Based Education – Mulyavardhan was conducted on 20th December 2025 by Ms. Shonal Colaco, Assistant Teacher at St. Louis Convent, Andheri, as a Faculty Development Programme. During the session, Ms. Shonal Colaco conducted a workshop on effective lesson planning and presented textbooks on value-based education designed by the Maharashtra State Board of Education in alignment with the NEP 2020, aimed at instilling values in children and teacher’s role in implementing them in classroom.

Date: 4th March 2026
An orientation on Child Protection Policy: POCSO and POSH was conducted by Mrs. Smita Lopes and Fr Prakash Rumao from Vasai Janhit Trust as a Facutly Development Programmes. Mrs. Smita Lopes, a consulting psychologist, provided valuable insights into the provisions of POSH and and its relevance in the modern workplace, and explained POCSO and its implications into the classroom, highlighting the role of teachers in ensuring a safe and suppportive environment for students.
