Academic Counselling and mentoring by Faculty 

Faculty members provide regular academic counselling and mentoring to students within the college. They guide students in lesson planning, assignments, examinations, classroom teaching, use of teaching-learning resources, and completion of academic activities. Individual and group mentoring sessions are conducted to understand students’ needs, clarify their doubts, and provide appropriate guidance. Faculty members also encourage students to identify their strengths, overcome academic challenges, develop effective study habits, and improve their teaching competencies. This continuous support helps students gain confidence, enhance their academic performance, and develop professionally as future teachers. 

Mentoring for Placement by Ms. Sanika Asolkar

The Placement Cell of Pushpanjali College of Education organised a pre-placement activity in which Lecturer Ms. Sanika Asolkar took a session on Navigating Interviews. She guided them on how to draft an effective application letter, create a professional and well-structured resume, and face placement interviews with confidence. Through interactive discussions and practical examples, she helped students understand recruiter expectations and develop the skills needed to present themselves successfully in professional settings. As part of the preparation process, students also approached the faculty for guidance before their demonstration lessons. Faculty members provided individual support, reviewed their lesson plans, and offered constructive suggestions to improve their teaching techniques and classroom delivery. This continuous mentoring not only enhanced the students’ readiness for interviews but also contributed significantly to their overall professional development as future educators.

They shared their knowledge and expertise in using various digital tools and educational technologies, helping their peers enhance their confidence and competence in digital learning and teaching practices.

The alumni of Pushpanjali College of Education provided valuable mentoring and guidance to the teacher trainees during their internship. The alumni shared their practical experiences and guided the students on effective lesson planning and presentation, classroom management, student engagement, use of teaching aids, and handling different classroom situations. Their insights helped the trainees understand the practical aspects of teaching and develop greater confidence in conducting lessons. The mentoring session served as a meaningful platform for interaction, experience-sharing, and professional growth of the student teachers.

Pushpanjali College of Education conducted a comprehensive guidance session for students, covering several key areas essential for their professional advancement. The session provided valuable insights into crafting an effective application letter, developing a strong resume, and approaching placement interviews with confidence and poise. Dr. Agens D’cota, the Placement In-Charge, played a pivotal role by personally orienting the students and guiding them through the placement process. The faculty members also made themselves available for individual consultations, offering valuable advice, practical strategies, and constructive guidance to help students prepare effectively before undertaking their demonstration lessons in schools. The session served as a valuable platform for students to enhance their professional skills, build confidence, and prepare themselves for successful placement opportunities.
