Workshop on Drafting an  Individualised Educational Plan 

Date: 27th March 2026

A session on Individualised Educational Plan (IEP) was conducted on 27th March 2026 for the student teachers of Pushpanjali College of Education. The Resource person for the session was Ms. Steffi Colaco. The session focused on helping the students gain a clear  understanding the purpose and components of an IEP. She laid emphasis on  importance of addressing the individual learning needs, abilities and challenges of learners to nurture an inclusive classroom. The students  were guided on setting appropriate learning objectives, adapting teaching strategies and assessing learner progress. Sample drafts of IEP implemented accross schools  were discussed with the students. The session helped student teachers understand the role of IEPs in promoting inclusive and learner-centred education. 

Session on Preparation for CTET Examination 

Date: 25th August 2026

A guidance session was conducted to help students prepare for the upcoming Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). The session was facilitated by Ms. Steffi Colaco, who provided comprehensive guidance on the structure and pattern of the examination. She explained the duration, total marks, and various components of the CTET syllabus for each paper.The students were also oriented on effective preparation strategies and the importance of regular practice. A Google Classroom was created to facilitate the dissemination of important information, study materials and updates. To provide opportunities for practice and self-assessment, students were assigned subject-specific mock tests through Google Forms. The session equipped students with greater clarity about the examination requirements and encouraged them to prepare systematically and confidently.

Autistic Pride Day 

Autistic Pride Day was celebrated through a special assembly organised to promote awareness, acceptance, and inclusion. The assembly focused on recognising the unique strengths, abilities, and contributions of autistic individuals while encouraging students to embrace diversity and respect individual differences. Various activities and presentations were conducted to spread the message of empathy, acceptance, and equal opportunities for all. The celebration helped create a more inclusive and supportive environment and sensitised students towards the importance of building a society that values and respects every individual.

Visit to Umang School to Promote Inclusivity 

A visit to Umang Special School was organised to promote the values of inclusivity, empathy, and acceptance among the S.Y.B.Ed. students. All S.Y.B.Ed. students visited the school and had the opportunity to interact with the students, understand their learning needs, and engage with them in a warm and supportive environment. The students also conducted various fun and interactive games and activities for the learners of Umang School. The visit provided a meaningful learning experience and helped the student-teachers understand the importance of creating inclusive learning environments that respect and celebrate individual differences.

Workshop on IEP (Individualised Education Plan)

A workshop on IEP (Individualised Education Plan) was conducted by Ms. Sonia Bombacha. The students were introduced to the concept, purpose, and key components of an IEP, with relevant inputs and guidance provided by the facilitator. Students were then given an opportunity to apply their understanding by preparing and writing an Individualised Education Plan based on the inputs provided. The activity helped students understand the importance of planning individualised learning experiences according to the diverse needs, abilities, and learning goals of students.
