Workshop on Charged Classrooms
Date: 27 July 2024
Ms Gaurangini Kulkarni Conducted a workshop on Charged Classrooms and demonstrated how interactive learning can enthuse a class. Various games and activities were used to show how student centric learning can be the focus even in large classrooms.
Puppet Making Workshop
Date: 14 Dec 2023
Ms Jessica Cerejo, Ms Chelsi Dias and Ms Bonasera Pinto were resource persons for a puppet making workshop conducted for F.Y. B.Ed students. Puppets enhance the effectiveness of the teaching learning process. The resource persons demonstrated how to make puppets from simple material like paper bags, ice cream cups, clothes clips etc. Rejected and discarded material was recycled to make attractive puppets. Theend products were then displayed for the perusal of all.
Workshop in Individualised Education Plans
Ms Sonia Bombacha conducted a workshop on IEP on 2 May 2024. The session focused on strategies for identifying student needs, setting achievable goals, and fostering inclusive learning environments.

Workshops organised in 2022-23
A workshop on Classroom Teaching Competencies was held for FYBEd students from 23 June to 1 July 2023. Students were oriented to different skills such as set induction, questioning, probing, use of illustrations, explanation and use of chalkboard. The faculty gave demonstration lessons to elucidate each skill. Thereafter students gave lessons in peer groups and received feedback from peers and faculty. The experience helped to build confidence to embark on the internship for Semester Two.
On 23 June 2023 a workshop on Instructional Objectives and Learning Outcomes was organised. Dr Sheetal Chaudhari presented the lead lecture following which students were guided by their pedagogy teachers to formulate learning outcomes for a given topic.
Workshop on Content Mapping and Lesson Planning
Content Mapping is an integral part of lesson planning. A session on content mapping was conducted on 30 June 2023 where the students mapped content for a topic from their chosen pedagogy subject. This was followed by a lesson planning workshop where they were guided by their pedagogy teachers to draw lesson plans on a topic. Students were oriented to the main dimensions of a lesson plan and encouraged to draw lesson plans that would ensure activity based joyful learning.
A workshop in Game Based Pedagogy was conducted by Dr Agnes Dcosta on 3 July 2023. Students participated in many activities to understand how games can be integrated into the teaching-learning process to make it interesting and child centric. Everyday games like Housie, Snakes and Ladders, antakshari can be given a twist and used as learning activities.
Lesson Planning is an essential part of the teaching learning process. A well planned lesson helps to cater to students’ learning needs and infuses interest in the learning process. Lesson Plans should be designed bearing in mind the content, class, learner profile and it must be guided by Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy and other pedagogical guidelines.
Apps can help us to make our lesson planning effective. On 3 July Dr Agnes Dcosta conducted a workshop to show how AI can be used for supporting the designing of lesson plans. Apps like Lesson Plan generator and Vercel were introduced. Students used the apps to see how to design plans to hold learners’ interest. Students were advised to use these Apps only as support and customise the plans to cater to the learners they would be engaging with.
Visit to Innovative School
On 8 July 2023, students visited National English High School, Virar to observe the innovative use of school premises. The attractive learning resources that can be seen on every wall and each nook and corner of the school showed how each inch of place can become a learning area. Students got insights into how activity based resources can augment learning. Ms Gaurangini and Sir Shreyas guided the school tour.
Ms Gaurangini Kulkarni Shetty conducted a workshop on Charged Classrooms for students of F.Y.B.Ed on 8 July 2023. The students participated in the various activities arranged by the resource person and learned how activities can be infused into the teaching learning process to ensure that students are involved in the learning process. The workshop was directed towards identifying and addressing needs of learners with varied abilities.
Workshops organised in 2021-22
An online workshop on Designing E portfolios using Blogger was conducted by Dr. Agnes DCosta on 8 July 2022. The students prepared their own blogs and showcased their learning journey by highlighting their milestones achieved in the field of education. They also shared the link of their blogs for peer review.
A workshop on Game Based Pedagogy was organised on 9 July 2022. Dr Agnes Dcosta demonstrated the use of various games that can be incorporated in the classroom. Students participated in simple games like Housie, Where are You, card games, crosswords, antakshari and Snakes and Ladders which were adapted to promote self learning in an ethos of interactivity and fun.
A workshop on Instructional Objectives and Learning Outcomes was organised on 9 July 2022. Dr Sheetal Chaudhari elucidated the significance of formulating proper instructional objectives and learning outcomes. Thereafter the students were guided by the faculty to formulate learning outcomes. Digital platform H5P was used to reinforce learning.
A Workshop on Teaching - Learning Skills was organised to help students master various skills needed for a effective teaching. Students delivered lessons in peer groups to practise skills such as set induction, questioning, explanation, use of illustrations, use of chalkboard and use of technology.
As part of the 75th anniversary celebrations of our Independence Day, a workshop entitled ‘Embrace Yoga, Embrace Life’ was organised on 23 July 2022. It helped us to discover the immense wealth of Yoga, an integral part of India’s heritage. The resource person Ms. Riya DCunha demonstrated various asanas and breathing techniques. The faculty and students practised the same under supervision
‘Great teachers focus not only on compliance but also on connections and relationships. ‘ The above message was the core of the workshop on Effective Classroom Communication conducted by Ms Ranjeeta Gomes, Coordinator and a teacher with more than two decades of teaching experience.Ms Ranjeeta shared many anecdotes and examples to emphasize how a teacher needs to be empathetic, creative, unique and mindful in order to have a healthy connection with the class. She also conducted some activities to reinforce the essential components of effective communication.
Assessment is an important aspect of the teaching learning process. The unit test workshop held on 22-23 Sept 2022 helped students to draw a Year’s plan, unit plan and design a test bearing in mind all features of a good test. Students also analyzed the question paper and formulated the scoring key.
On 24 Sept 2022, Ms Gaurangini Kulkarni Shetty conducted a workshop on Charged Classrooms. She demonstrated many participatory activities that can energise and enliven a classroom thus providing the right ambience to learn in a stress free and stimulating environment.
