The full-time student teaching experience is one full quarter in length (11 weeks). It is a full-time, full-day (8 hours) experience. EDUC 498: Student Teaching Seminar and the CalTPA course are taken concurrently with student teaching.

Meet with the Director of Field Experience after eligibility for Full-Time Student Teaching has been confirmed by the Credential Analyst

Before beginning the student teaching experience, all candidates must have regular admission status in the Teacher Education Program and meet the following requirements:
General Requirements (All Candidates)
Regular Admission Status in the Teacher Education Program
Cumulative GPA: Minimum of 2.75 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (M.A.T.)
Subject Matter Competency: Met by one of the following:
Approved subject matter degree
Passing CSET scores
Completion of a CTC-approved subject matter program

EDUC 340 – Exceptional Children in the Classroom
EDUC 491 – Student Teaching Seminar (TPA Cycle 1)
Successful completion of Pre-Session Student Teaching
Verification of a Negative TB Test (if the current test on file is more than two years old)

Department Review #1 approval following Math Field Experience
